Goodnight Mil Kid

Sleep Number Mil KidsEnter to win your child a good night’s sleep! Our mil kids sacrifice a lot, but they don’t have to sacrifice sleep too! Our good friends at Sleep Number recognize how a good night’s rest can help ease the stress of the military lifestyle — parents’ deployments, moving, etc., so they are giving away 100 prize packages to Blue Star Families’ members during the Month of the Military Child. These prize packages contain: a pillow, a ZZZ Bear, protection pad, sheets, a blanket, and a subscription to the Caribu Reading App for bedtime stories. Enter here

Medical Care Woes

We can all probably agree that military dependents deserve better when it comes to alternative care options and coverage—from chiropractic to acupuncture, naturopathic, and more. It’s clear that outdated policies and coverage benefits are seriously overdue for a check-up. Here’s what we’re doing to ignite powerful, positive change.

Sesame Street

Home is Where the Heart Is

Tuesday, April 16th

Time: 1 PM ET/ 12 PM CT/ 10 AM PT

As Sesame Street celebrates its 50th anniversary, take an inside look at how Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind the beloved television show, harnesses the power of media and Muppets to help military children through the milestones of relocations, deployments, and transitions. From the celebrations in life to the challenges, Sesame Workshop offers these children and their families resources to help them talk, listen, and connect while facing the challenges of deployment, coping with visible and invisible injuries, and building resilience in times of separation and change. Sesame Street for Military Families connects caregivers with community leaders to build a “circle of care” to help children – especially the most vulnerable – get off to a strong and healthy start. Military families and children are strong, but we know they face unique challenges; with the help of furry friends, we are committed to arming them with a wealth of resources to bring help, hope, and healing through the lens of Sesame Street.
